My name is Paul Nolan. I live in the foothills of the beautiful Wicklow Mountains, a range I've worked and played in for over 30 years.
My background in Orienteering and Mountain Running, combined with Mountain Leadership Qualifications, put me in a unique position to offer navigation training to those looking to flow across the hills; at speed or for leisure.
From holding the record on the 3.7km Sugarloaf Rush to being one third of the first team to complete the 110km Wicklow Round I believe I understand the mindset of the active human.
I hold the Mountain Leader, Winter Mountain Leader and International Mountain Leader qualifications. Am affiliated to UIMLA, committed to continued professional development and comprehensively insured.
I back this up with Rock Climbing Instructor and Wilderness EMT qualifications, along with a decade on the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team, including a stint as its training officer.
More recently I've qualified as a First Aid Instructor on behalf of the Irish Heart Foundation , Remote Emergency Care and Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council .
Other than that, I just love being on the hills.
